So I'm thinking I'm going to get some stuff done on my days off. So far here's what I've decided I will definitely do:

Plasti-dip wheels
Paint exhaust tips

I'm thinking about de-badging, but that will depend on if our weather man is correct or not (I'm not holding my breath) as he's saying it will be 53, 55, 60, and 55 for my days off...that 60 day would be nice for de-badging, washing, and a quick detail wax.

Anything else you guys can think of? I'm also going by a local shop that makes vinyl graphics to check pricing on R/T hood stripes and possibly some custom badges.

For those that don't know, here's what I'm going for:

Here's the total list:

Headlights (done)
Tint fogs (done)
Custom badges
De-badge OEM badges
Drop (done)
PD wheels
Tint puddle lights
Tint tails
Limo tint (done)
Change matte black b-pillars to gloss (have the stuff, just have to do it)
R/T hood/fender stripes

Truck's going to look BA with plasti-dipped wheels!

The one thing I really want to do is get it as low as I chopped it. It's about an inch or so off but I don't want driveability issues or a really harsh ride if I start cutting coils. Maybe I'll just save up for a bolt in bag kit in the future.

OK, I need your guys' opinions too. Should I do something with the center cap and lug nuts also or just the wheels themselves?

If you are going to plastidip the whole wheel i say do the centers too. I would start with the Chrome then see what it looks like. Black and chrome usually accent really well. Hell maybe leave the centers chrome too.

leave the centers and nuts alone. nobody wants painted nuts dude.

:shakehead:

I wouldn't dip the lug nuts. Every time you rotate your tires you will have to re-do them. Not sure on the center caps. You could paint one of them and see how it looks?

I think it should be a package deal...if I'm going to paint one, I need to paint the other. I think for now I'm going to leave them both and see if I can find some OE spec lug nuts that are a true black.

i like the chop above, I think if you chopped it to show the painted centers........it wouldn't "flow" as well.

I agree. I just looked at the chop again and like the look of the chrome lugs and centers.

Thanks guys.

On a side note, I went and priced the custom badges I want made at a local shop (only because the guy who did RaiderJay's went up 50% on price) and they want even more! The other guy is now $120 and they want $155 with a 2-3 week lead time.

Screw that!

Have you tried Billet Technologies? I don't know what they would cost. I sent Nick @ BT an email this morning to get a bunch of prices and he hasn't gotten back with me. I will be getting a BT T-Handle shifter as soon as I figure out which one and will eventually get some custom front and rear badges. I want the bee logo on the badge with 139 or 139 of 1000 below it...

The BT badges aren't my style...I REALLY like the ones on RJ's truck.

Thank you. Oddly enough, as much as I love it, I still miss the '04 a lot. It was put together just right, IMO. I would really like a set of wheels for this thing but my hobbies and interests just have me too spread out right now.

Yeah I miss my 04 I had it perfect and loved it I tell myself all the time I should have not sold it.

As much as I think of all the good things regarding the '04 I also have to remember the bad...peeling clear on the roof and both passenger side doors, needed a new grill due to a crack, and when I traded it I realized it had a power steering pump leak.

The only thing that went bad on my truck was the water pump...other than that never had a problem with it.. and the last year I had it I put 70,000 miles on it.. it was good to me.

Yeah I seen your 04 that thing was clean man love the look..I couldn't decide if I wanted to drop it or lift it but end the end I lifted it. and I hated paying $1,400 for tires for that thing.. As much driving as I did I was getting new tires every 6 months it sucked.. no more 35's for me lol

BMRbrnSNRbrd
03-14-2011, 07:27 AM
Ouch. New 35s every six months is crazy.

Yeah it didn't help I bought that rough country lift (POS) lift and I was having to get alignments every 2 to 3 months because the front tires kept bowing inwards and it was causing the insides of the tires to wear like crazy... So it was just getting a little to out of hand having to pay for all that crap.
