Default Ram 2500 Hemi stock 10-70 Roll off

I have not really towed with my truck in the past two months and I was beginning to forget the power of my rig so on the way to get gas at a stoplight that lead to the beginning to an expressway I let her rip with tow haul enabled and overdrive locked out. For a stock 6800 pound truck I am very impressed. I remembered why I bought it.

Do the 2500s really weigh that much? I knew they were heavy but damn! That is definitely impressive.

Yeah they are that heavy and I have noticed the 2500 Body is thicker compared to the metal they use on the 1500 body trucks so that does have something to do with it. The frame is also very big and very strong, I also have a solid front axle and the rig is 4x4. It is amazing how much the body thickness, frame, suspension etc. are compared to the 1500. It used to be back in the day the only thing that made the difference between a 1500 and a 2500 was the frame axles and suspension components but now its like almost night and day.

The 2500s feel like they are thicker and the hood is definitely thicker but everyone knows a HD hood is different from the 1500 hood because of the different grills. I could be wrong but I have a couple of PDIs to do tomorrow we received a batch of trucks so I will confirm tomorrow if I am wrong or not. It is quite possible I could be imagining things.

I do not know if I would be that surprised since the new Cafe standards in place that are going to affect the 1500s but I will see tomorrow or let me see if I can find something on Dealer Connect real quick.

The Doors and Cab are the same just like the 1500, however the fenders, hood, wheel wells, bed, and bed panels between the 1500 and 2500 models are different part numbers but I can not see what the difference is all it gives me are part numbers. I used my vin and a PDI vin from a 1500 in my bay at work. I will just have to ask my parts guy tomorrow because it could be that the fenders use the same metal material with the exception of them being bigger.
