IDK Jeremy. I don't ever use the back of the truck at all but i've rubbed the plasti on the grill pretty good and didn't peel or anything.. Few people have it done to there step rails.. Only time can tell

I have one of those little trigger attachments. I don't use it very often, but on something like that or when I did my wheels it would be worth it's weight in gold.
