Gloss black vinyl b-pillars installed
Finally got this done. I don't know why I waited so long. It may have something to do with the first (and only) time I've ever done this was on my '04 and it was a disaster that had to be re-done and took forever. I got one side knocked out in about an hour and a half yesterday and the other side done in about 45 min this morning. There are still a lot of bubbles, most likely because I did a very wet install to give myself time to position the pieces correctly, but they will quickly disappear with the 80* weather we're getting today and tomorrow. :D
By the way, this is a nice 7 year vinyl that was....requisitioned....from the United States Navy and is meant for lettering the side of aircraft. Here's a comparison of the OE vinyl and the new stuff: http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...3-16153721.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...3-16153732.jpg And completed: http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...3-17102431.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...3-17102439.jpg Keep in mind that the "rough" or almost satin look is due the mass of small bubbles underneath. It will eventually smooth out and look like the '04's did: http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...barandwax8.jpg What do you think? |
