Well.....found out at work today that I get to move to a new office. :party36:

I love me some peace and quiet........and my new office has "actual" walls (not some 7 ft cubicle wall shit) and some windows (that look out to the top of a roof........). Best part, a nice big open office for me to put all my my nothing! (I hate clutter......therefore I can literally move from one office to the next in about 10 minutes flat).

I've been working there since Oct 2001. I've had.......a buttload of different offices. This one isn't the "best" one I had - but it is probably number 2!

Yeah Yo.......you can't get upstairs. LOL

But, with the projects moving into that quad - its time for me to go. They can use that office for something better than me sitting in there getting annoyed with the noise of the "floor".

Its funny, the windows look out to nothing........I can see a wood fence thing. I'm on the second floor, and right outside the windows is about 10-15 ft before the AC units, which are blocked by a wood fence. Eh, it still lets in light, and thats all that matters!

My work blocks EVERYTHING. I understand it.......to a point. And, if they didn't, I wouldn't want to surf - I don't want them tracking where I go, or how much I surf sometimes. (Yo, keep that to yourself please! - as some of you know, Yo and I work at the same place). :D

My garage isn't horrible........to a point. I have some ideas for the springtime that will help that out as well. I hate that I can't get in my bed of the truck when she's in the garage, or that I can't really work on her and walk around her.

I actually just got back from taking a load to the dumpster at the shop. All 5ft7in of it........stupidass short bed. LOL. Oh well. If I really wanted to go all out I would have nabbed the keys to the shop truck (mid 80s Chebby box van) and REALLY gotten rid of some shit!

I can get my truck completely in with the door shut...but the only way to get from one side of the garage to the other is to climb on the bumper or through the truck.

Yup that it is. if I go anymore the Garage door bracket thing will take out the roof. Tried it already and it wasn't pretty. I have about 2 ft to the drop celing then another 2 feet to the workbench. I'll get a pic of the car in there at lunch. I can't even get out if the truck is in there. Oh and that was when I was changing the alt. Now I just open the hood and pull as close as I can. My car can barely fit. I have to play tetris to get the car in and out every year.

basically, on the side of the building........there is a wall. behind that wall is a bunch of AC crap, and a deck. The fence goes up to the deck - and this is back behind all that. There is probably 10-15 ft between the window and the fence. Works for me though, I get light - and I got to see it snow today too. :D

Anyways, I feel an office re arrangement coming to a business near you soon... Something about how that wall side of the desk needs to be on the opposing wall and the side portion facing opposite the windows... You'll have your back to the windows, yes, but no one sees your pretty little computer screen... Oh, and if that's a carpet floor, a razor blade will move that network cable really easy! lol

Oh, and Tony, low head room kit garage door assemblies for the mofoing win. I hated installing those when my grandparents had their door business.

This office has been set up like this for YEARS. I get weird looks because I don't put the monitor in the corner like I "should". They don't get it.......I have a lot of people coming and going - looking at graphs, spreadsheets, PPTs, etc - and frankly, I don't want them hovering over me. I'll spin my monitor, sit the f down - lets do this.

^^^^Now that is fancy. I used to have dual monitor's but i traded them out for one high def monitor. Besides my poor machine can't take it. I need a new one.

Chris I may get a new door this spring. My cables came off the track and now the door won't open or close by itself. So yea. Besides my door is rotten all to heck. Hey why don't you come up for a weekend and help me install one:D lol

Yup Same here. I am not tied all day but it's nice to just sit there listen to some tunes and work. As for the duals yea they are nice. I traded out my 2 19" for a single 19 wide-screen cause my computer couldn't run both monitors effectively to support my multi-tasking. So that's why the laptop. At home I run a 32" and a 15" Thinkin about taking that 15 up to a 19 from work but I dunno.

I do a lot of different stuff through the day to break up the monotony. Surfin's one of 'em. Sometimes. :D Most of the time I'm somewhat busy with writing queries in SQL and designing other crap in Excel. Playing with SharePoint more too. Other times I go to the latte machine and let it drop out about 8 shots of espresso and chug it. That gets me going! :D

I asked the IT dude about dual monitors today........might be in the future. :D Evidently last time I asked him he started the process of getting the parts (working for a LARGE company sucks sometimes).
