Thanks guys. This is in NY Morgan, while I'm working my drummer runs it. We did a few tracks last week and it sounds flawless.

No I bought a space in town and gutted it, then to save on costs I did all the construction. Being that my drummer works at best buy (Not knocking him) but he does not make a whole lot so pretty much all of this has come out of my pocket. I have been saving since 2004 to do this and I started building it about 1 and 1/2 years ago.. Right now i'm about $80,000 into it .. That's including the building.

But their is a lot of money to be made with this venture. A buddy of mine has a studio in VA and he is making bank off of recording bands and stuff.

that's why I don't take a lot of time off of work to come home..... I have to work 7 days a week just to keep this thing going, keeping the bills paid.

yeah I know... Many long nights and fights with my girl because of this.. She wan's a house and to get married and for the last few years my Blood, Sweat and Money have gone into this and it really pisses her off.

but if it gets to crazy I have already had 2 offers from people to buy it so if I get in a jam I can let it go.. if I do sell it.....Hello 2011 Cummins hahaha.

We are going to open it to the public in a few weeks and we are already have a waiting list, they don't have any good studios around Corning NY so that's another reason why I decided to build it. locals are driving 3 to 4 hours to get a good recording studio. I think it will work out

Wow! So what will be the average that you charge a band to record in your studio? Is that all you will do is rent it out for a few hours or are you thinking bigger then just that?

Well it started out as just for our recording but like always it ended up being a lot bigger and a lot more $$$ then I originally anticipated. So to make back some of the cost we are going to let people in. We are talking about how much to charge right now. Since I am very fluent with music production I will be doing all the mixing and tweaking of the tracks so that takes a good bit of time, if they want a studio quality cd then I would have to do all the mixing and put in a lot of time, however if they are looking at just a quick demo then they can come set up record their stuff spit them some cd's out then they are saving a good bit of money but its not a super high quality cd but good for the money.

So we are just trying to figure out what to charge.
