Got this grille installed last night. It was supposed to be delivered yesterday morning but UPS couldn't find my work so I told them I would pick it up. Had to go to UPS twice and it took them 30 minutes to find the damn box. I hate UPS and remember why I always ship FedEx. At least they didn't damage it though!

Thanks! A DT member actually sent me a local craigslist ad from Atlanta. The guy had it listed for $100 obo, I offered $100 shipped and he took it! The guy said he took it off with 1000 miles on the truck to put on a custom grille. It's in great shape and only has one tiny rock chip.

It had the black honeycomb inserts when I got it and I swapped in my chrome honeycomb inserts. I think it ties in with the rest of the chrome a little better. If I ever get rid of all the chrome I will put the black insert back in.

I almost didn't get it, but since they are $240 plus shipping new, I couldn't pass it up.

I actually liked the color matched grill/chrome bumper look on my '04.

The more I look at it the more I like the minimal chrome of the bumpers and wheels. I think some painted headlights and door handles would complete the look.

Yep, $100 bucks shipped! Couldn't pass that up. Looks brand new except for a tiny rock chip, which with how many miles I drive, it's going to get a few more...

Here is the "Rest of the Story."

I got a PM from our good friend Duck001 from DT saying he found this inferno red grill in his local Craigslist ad and offered to pick it up and ship it for me. When he first PM'd me he made it sound like the guy was like 5 minutes away and it would be no biggie to pick it up and drop it off at UPS for me. Then it turns out he was 100+ miles away and would have to go pick it up.

Then he said it was $75 for him to ship his old grille when he bought his color matched. I figured it up and I can ship it from GA to me for $30! Turns out he had UPS package it up for him and apparently charged him $40 for that, plus another $35 shipping! After all this I gave up and decided not to go through with the deal, too much drama. After all the fees added up it was going to be about $160-175 for everything. Then a few days later I decided to email the guy directly with a low-ball offer of $100 shipped and he said yes.

When I was first starting the deal with Duck001 he wanted me to call him to discuss instead of going back and forth on PMs. So, my dumb ass not thinking, I called him. Now he thinks that he needs to call me everyday to chat like high school girls and I don't have time for that. I answered the first couple times and after being stuck on the phone for 20 minutes each time I stopped answering. Every time he calls I decline it, but I guess he doesn't get the hint. He tried calling yesterday after he saw my new grille installed post on DT, he's probably mad that I went around him. I saved over $50 by not using him as my grille broker...

There is so much more to this story, but I will stop there. This guy is a strange Duck...

I could probably write a small book about this guy. Not sure if it would be a comedy or a drama?
